Colocation exit

Colocation Exit & Cage Clearance Services

A colocation contract does not end until the cage is empty and the provider signs the handback. USACA Group clears cages and suites to provider standard — cabinets, containment, cabling and IT load — with certified destruction evidence and the documentation your provider and your auditors both need.

Who this service is for

Enterprises exiting or downsizing colocation footprints, cloud migration programs terminating contracts, MSPs consolidating estates, and administrators clearing space under deadline.

Cage and suite clearance to provider handback standard, with destruction certificates and a dated close-out package.

  • colocation exit
  • cage clearance
  • data center handback
  • colocation decommissioning
  • suite clearance services

What you receive

  • Handback-standard clearance

Cabinets, rails, containment, cabling, trays and IT equipment removed to the provider's documented handback condition.

  • Certified data destruction

All data-bearing media destroyed with per-serial logs and certificates of destruction covering the full footprint.

  • Provider coordination

Access, dock windows, escort requirements and insurance paperwork coordinated directly with the colocation operator.

  • Value recovery

Marketable hardware appraised and remarketed, with proceeds offset against the exit cost.

  • Close-out package

Inventory, destruction certificates, recycling record and a dated clearance sign-off to support contract termination.

How it works

A documented process, start to certificate.

  1. Step 01

    Scope the footprint

Cage walk-through, asset audit and confirmation of the provider's handback requirements.

  2. Step 02

    Book access

Dock slots, escorts, insurance certificates and work permits arranged with the operator.

  3. Step 03

    Destroy data

Media destroyed on site or under sealed transport, logged per serial.

  4. Step 04

    Strip the cage

IT load, cabinets, containment and cabling removed in agreed phases.

  5. Step 05

    Recover value

Resaleable assets placed into our worldwide buyer network; residual material recycled.

  6. Step 06

    Hand back

Space presented for provider sign-off and the full close-out package issued.
