Storage & SAN Array Decommissioning Services

Storage carries the highest data risk in the room and often the highest residual value. USACA Group decommissions enterprise storage — SAN, NAS, disk shelves, tape libraries and flash arrays — with drive-level accountability and value recovery on controllers, shelves and interconnect.

Who this service is for

Storage and infrastructure teams, backup and archive owners, regulated enterprises retiring arrays, and operators consolidating onto new platforms.

Drive-level accountability across storage estates, with destruction evidence per serial and remarketing of the surrounding hardware.

  • storage array decommissioning
  • SAN decommissioning services
  • disk shelf removal
  • tape library decommissioning
  • enterprise storage disposal

What you receive

  • Drive-level inventory

Every disk, SSD and tape captured by serial, slot and enclosure as it is removed from the array.

  • Serialized destruction

Media shredded, crushed or certified-sanitized with method, operator and timestamp logged per unit.

  • Controller and shelf recovery

Controllers, shelves, HBAs, SFPs and interconnect triaged for remarketing rather than scrapped by default.

  • Tape library handling

Libraries, drives and cartridge inventories handled with tape destruction evidence where required.

  • Reconciled reporting

Slot-level manifest reconciled against destruction logs so no drive is unaccounted for.

How it works

A documented process, start to certificate.

  1. Step 01

    Confirm the estate

Arrays, enclosures, drive counts and data classification confirmed before scheduling.

  2. Step 02

    Controlled shutdown

Power-down support, cable labelling and safe de-installation of shelves and controllers.

  3. Step 03

    Extract and scan

Drives pulled and scanned by slot and serial into the tracking record at the rack.

  4. Step 04

    Destroy media

On-site or secure-warehouse destruction to the agreed standard with live logging.

  5. Step 05

    Recover hardware

Chassis, controllers and optics tested and routed to buyer channels.

  6. Step 06

    Report and certify

Destruction certificates, drive-level logs and settlement issued together.
