Server decommissioning

Server Decommissioning Services

Decommissioning a server estate is a project, not a pickup. USACA Group handles power-down support, de-cabling, de-racking, drive destruction and remarketing — with serialized reporting that closes out your asset register and your risk register at the same time.

Who this service is for

Infrastructure and platform teams, systems administrators, migration and cloud-transition programs, and facility managers retiring server rooms, comms rooms and rack estates.

End-to-end server, storage and network decommissioning with documented custody and settlement on resalable hardware.

What you receive

  • Structured de-rack

Labelled, sequenced removal of servers, storage, switches, PDUs and cabling with photographic before-and-after records.

  • Serialized asset report

Every unit recorded by make, model, serial, configuration and disposition outcome for register reconciliation.

  • Drive destruction evidence

All data-bearing media destroyed or sanitized with per-serial logging and certificates.

  • Space handback

Racks emptied, floor cleared and material removed so the space can be handed back or repurposed.

How it works

A documented process, start to certificate.

  1. Step 01

    Scope & survey

Rack and unit counts, dependencies, access and timeline captured into a decommissioning plan.

  2. Step 02

    Power-down support

We work alongside your engineers as systems are taken out of service and confirmed decommissioned.

  3. Step 03

    De-cable & de-rack

Cabling, rails and units removed in a controlled sequence and packaged for transport.

  4. Step 04

    Transport

Sealed, tracked transport under documented chain of custody.

  5. Step 05

    Destroy & triage

Media destroyed; hardware tested and split between remarketing and recycling.

  6. Step 06

    Close out

Final asset report, destruction certificates, settlement statement and environmental summary.
